Ingredients
- 1 large onion
- 1 salt to taste
- 1 pepper to taste
- 2 strips bacon
- 1 butter or margarine (the amount depends on the size of your onion and the onion well)
Method
- Peel the skin off of the onion.
- Core out the center, but not all the way through, to make a well in the onion.
- Load up the well with butter or margarine.
- Wrap the bacon strips around the onion to cross over the well.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Wrap in aluminium foil and twist the top of the foil to close tight.
- Toss on the fire and cook until soft.
