- 1 lb. can chopped tomatoes (undrained)
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. uncooked long grain rice
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Method
- In oil, saute onion and ground pepper until tender; add ground beef and brown well.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Pour into greased 2-quart casserole.
- Bake, covered, in preheated 350° oven for 45 minutes.
- Uncover and bake 15 additional minutes.
- Serves 6 to 8.
