Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. cottage cheese
  • 1/2 avocado, peeled and cut in pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. grated fresh onion
  • 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 drops Tabasco
  • 3/4 c. chopped cooked chicken
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • party rye slices, toasted and buttered
  • pimento

Method

  • Put cottage cheese and avocados into electric blender and blend until smooth.
  • Blend in onion, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco.
  • Stir in chicken and celery.
  • Chill several hours or overnight.
  • To serve, spread about 1 tablespoon mixture on each rye toast slice.
  • Garnish with pimento.
  • Makes about 2 dozen appetizers.
