Ingredients
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped (not fine)
- 2/3 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. apples, peeled, cored and diced (use 2 kinds of cooking apples to enhance differences in taste)
Method
- Beat eggs until thick.
- Add sugar to eggs slowly, 1/2 cup at a time.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Stir in flour mixture 1/2 at a time.
- Fold in apples. Stir in walnuts.
- Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
