Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 level tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 Tbsp. butter
Method
- Combine sugar, buttermilk and baking soda in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook until light brown or until it's to the soft ball stage on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and add pecans, vanilla and butter.
- Beat until mixture is not runny. Drop by tablespoonful onto a sheet of waxed paper.
