Ingredients
- 12 medium size onions
- 1 c. diced, cooked celery
- 1/4 c. margarine or butter
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 c. milk
Method
- Cook onions in boiling water slowly and uncovered, about 1/2 hour.
- Drain thoroughly.
- Cook celery the same method; drain. Melt margarine or butter in saucepan.
- Add flour, salt and pepper, stirring until bubbly.
- Remove from heat very slowly.
- Blend in milk.
- Then stir and cook until thickened.
