Ingredients
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 3 teaspoons light soy sauce
- 3 teaspoons honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce (ketchup) or sweet chilli sauce
- 2 spring onions (scallions), finely sliced
- 1.5 kg (3 lb 5 oz) chicken wings
Method
1. To make the marinade, combine the garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, tomato sauce and spring onion in a small bowl.
2. Pour over the chicken wings, cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
3. Place the chicken on a barbecue grill plate or flat plate and cook, in batches, turning once, for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked and golden brown. Baste with the marinade during cooking. Heat any remaining marinade in a saucepan until boiling and serve as a sauce.
