- 1 1/2 lb. boneless chuck, cut in 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1 can or 1 lb. tomatoes
- 1 medium green pepper
- 1 c. chopped onions
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Method
- Brown meat in margarine.
- Add onion, celery, pepper, tomatoes and 1 cup water.
- Cover and simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes on low heat.
- Mix cornstarch and 1 cup water.
- Stir in with rest of ingredients.
- Cook until slightly thickened.
- Serve on rice. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
