Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. boneless chuck, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 can or 1 lb. tomatoes
  • 1 medium green pepper
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Method

  • Brown meat in margarine.
  • Add onion, celery, pepper, tomatoes and 1 cup water.
  • Cover and simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes on low heat.
  • Mix cornstarch and 1 cup water.
  • Stir in with rest of ingredients.
  • Cook until slightly thickened.
  • Serve on rice. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
