Ingredients
- 4 qt. cucumber pickles
- 6 medium onions
- 2 red sweet peppers
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/3 c. salt
- 5 c. sugar
- 3 c. white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Method
- Slice pickles 1/4-inch thick.
- Quarter the onions. Slice peppers into thin strips.
- Place all into extremely large bowl. Add garlic.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Cover with salt, then ice.
- Let sit for 3 hours.
- Drain.
- Set aside.
