Ingredients
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 c. applesauce
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. soda, dissolved in applesauce
- raisins and nuts (optional)
Method
- Cream shortening and sugar together. Mix all ingredients but applesauce and baking soda into sugar mixture. Dissolve baking soda in applesauce and stir until frothy. Blend mixture with rest of ingredients and stir by hand.
- Place in a Bundt cake.
- Bake at 325° for about 50 minutes.
