Ingredients
- 12 x Tart cooking apples
- 2 c. Dry red wine
- 1 c. Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 2 slc Lemon (optional)
Method
- Core, peel, and quarter apples.
- Combine wine and sugar in crockpot, stir well.
- Add in apple quarters.
- Stir well to coat apples with wine mix.
- Add in nutmeg and lemon slices.
- Cover and cook on low setting for 8-12 hrs (high 2-3 hrs).
- Transfer apples and liquid to a refrigerator container and refrigeratewell.
- Serve in sherbet glasses.
- Yield: about 3 qts
