- 14 cup honey
- 14 cup brown sugar
- 2 apples
- 34 cup sugar
- 12 cup light corn syrup
- 1 egg white
- 1 cup applesauce
- 12 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 12 teaspoons cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon nutmeg
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 14 cups flour
Method
- combine honey and brown sugar in a frying pan.
- cook over medium heat until it dissolves, 2 to 3 minute stir often and add apples (cored, thinly sliced) to the pan.
- cook for about 4 min until apples soften.
- remove from heat.
- wrap the bottom and outer sides of a 9 inch spring form pan with foil.
- lightly spray inside surface.
- transfer the apple mixture to the pan and arrange the slices into an even layer.
- put the sugar and corn syrup into a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer.
- add the egg white and beat until smooth, beat in applesauce and buttermilk at high speed for 1 min more.
- the mixture should have a slight froth.
- combine the remaining ingredients then add to the batter in a large bowl and mix until smooth.
- spread evenly over apples.
- bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minute.
