- crisco canola oil (for frying)
- 12 cup granulated sugar
- 34 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 12 cup maple syrup or 12 cup table syrup
- 14 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 12 cup milk
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored and chopped to make 1 cup
- 1 tablespoon crisco canola oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 14 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon salt
Method
- Heat 2-3 inches of oil to 365F in deep fryer or deep saucpan.
- CINNAMON SUGAR: While oil heats, combine sugar and cinnamon in a resealable food storage bag.
- SPICED SYRUP: Mix syrup and cinnamon and heat in a microwave safe bowl or on low heat in a saucepan.
- Keep warm while peparing fritters.
- BATTER: Combine egg and milk in large bowl.
- Stir in apple and oil.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in another bowl.
- add to egg mixture.
- Stir until just mixed.
- Drop by Tablespoonfuls a few at a time into hot oil.
- Fry about 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Turn as needed for even browning.
- Remove with slottled spoon.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Gently shake fritters in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place in a shallow serving bowl.
- Drizzle with warm syrup.
- Serve warm.
