Ingredients
- 5 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 2 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
Method
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Cut shortening in.
- Add the yeast and buttermilk.
- Mix with large spoon real good.
- This makes a large bowl full.
- Pinch off each day just the amount you want to bake.
- This keeps a week to 10 days.
- Keep remainder of dough in refrigerator.
- Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
