Ingredients
- 4 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 2 pkg. yeast (melted in 1/4 c. warm water)
Method
- Sift together flour, sugar and soda.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix as biscuits.
- Pinch off dough, about the size of a walnut and roll out biscuits.
- Let stand a few hours to rise. Bake in 425° to 450° oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- May store dough in refrigerator in a sealed bowl and use as needed.
- This will keep 4 or 5 days.
