Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 5 c. flour
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. warm water
Method
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Add shortening (cut shortening in). Add buttermilk and yeast (dissolved in warm water).
- Work dough. Pinch off amount needed; roll out and cut into biscuits.
- Bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Refrigerate rest and pinch off as needed.
