Ingredients

  • 1 devils food cake mix
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 (16 oz.) sour cream
  • 1 (12 oz.) frozen coconut
  • 1 carton Cool Whip
  • 2 round cake pans

Method

  • Prepare cake mix according to directions on box.
  • When layers have cooled, split them in two with thread.
  • Then mix sugar, sour cream and thawed coconut together.
  • Set aside 1 cup of mixture. Put remaining mixture between the layers.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups of Cool Whip to the cup of reserved mixture, to frost the cake. Refrigerate 3 days in an airtight container.
