Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1/2 c. Boiling Water
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. All-Bran(r) Cereal
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 x Egg, well beaten
  • 1 x Yeast Cake
  • 1/2 c. Hot Water
  • 3 c. Flour, or possibly
  • 4 c. Flour

Method

  • Mix shortening, boiling water, sugar, salt and All-Bran together.
  • Let stand till lukewarm.
  • Soak the cake of yeast in the hot water.
  • Add in the egg.
  • mix with the above mix.
  • Add in flour.
  • Place in a slightly greased bowl.
  • Set aside to rise.
  • Knead on floured surface.
  • Place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise till double in bulk.
  • Turn out on floured surface and roll.
  • Bake in warm over, 425 degrees for about 15 min.
