Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon of American yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of celery seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup of minced onion
  • 16 slices of baked ham; approximately 1/2 pound or to taste
  • 8 slices of American cheesse
  • 8 sturdy hamburger/sandwich buns

Method

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees or an outdoor grill to 350 degrees.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, mayonnaise, mustard, celery seed, Worcestershire and onion.
  • Spread the mixture on the cut sides of the buns.
  • Place a slice of cheese on top cut side.
  • Place the ham on the bottom cut side.
  • Bring the sandwich together and wrap twice in sheets of foil.
  • Bake on the oven rack for 15 minutes.
  • If using an outdoor grill, bake for 15 mintues, rotating halfway through or until the sandwiches are hot and toasted.
  • If starting with frozen sandwiches, bake for 30 minutes.
  • Serve wrapped in foil.
