Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1/2 c. sliced carrots
  • 1/2 c. sliced celery
  • 1/4 c. sliced onions
  • 1/2 lb. hamburg
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 to 2/3 c. water
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Brown hamburg and drain well.
  • Layer the hamburg and vegetables in a 2-quart well-greased casserole.
  • Reverse the layers of vegetables, ending with potatoes.
  • Season potato and meat layers with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix the tomato soup with the water. Pour over top of layers.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Cover with foil.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Serves approximately 6.
