Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. softened butter
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. ginger
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
Method
- Beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add molasses and egg; blend well.
- Stir in all-purpose flour and wheat flour, baking soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon.
- Mix well.
- If necessary, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for easier handling.
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Roll out and cut on lightly floured surface.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350° for 6 to 9 minutes.
- Cool 1 minute.
- Remove from cookie sheet and cool completely before decorating.
