Ingredients
- 1 c. vinegar
- 2 c. water
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. flour
- water
- single crust for 9-inch pie
Method
- Combine vinegar, water and sugar and bring to a boil.
- Add butter and stir until it melts.
- Mix the flour with a little of the cold water until smooth.
- Add slowly to the boiling liquid and stir until thickened.
- Pour filling into pastry lined pie pan.
- Cover with strips of pastry in a crisscross fashion.
- Bake at 450° for 16 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350° and bake 20 minutes longer.
