Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/3 c. Crisco or 4 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3/4 c. warm water
  • 1 c. warmed tomato sauce
  • 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • Sift together flour, salt and sugar.
  • With pastry blender, cut in Crisco. Dissolve yeast in water. Add to flour mixture. Beat vigorously 2 minutes. Dust surface.
  • Knead 25 times.
  • Let rest 10 to 15 minutes. Spread on greased pan.
  • Top with warm sauce and Mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake at 425° for 15 minutes. Yields 1 cookie sheet size pizza.
