Ingredients
- 3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. minus 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
- 1 c. whipped topping
Method
- Scald the milk in the top of a double boiler.
- Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the scalded milk.
- Stir until blended and cook, stirring often, until mixture begins to thicken. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat; add margarine and vanilla.
- Stir and cool slightly.
