Ingredients

  • 1 c. cooked bulgur wheat, kasha or brown rice
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. dried bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. pumpkin, sunflower or sesame seed
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/4 tsp. tamari (soy sauce)
  • 1/2 c. diced onions
  • 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • 3/4 tsp. coriander
  • 1/2 tsp. each: salt and pepper

Method

  • Cook wheat and water 15 minutes.
  • Preheat broiler.
  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Shape into 4 equal patties.
  • Broil about 5 minutes on each side until brown.
  • Makes 4 servings.
