Ingredients

  • 2 C. half-and-half
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 3/4 C. light brown corn syrup
  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Combine sugar, 1 cup of half-and-half, syrup and butter.
  • Cook over medium heat for 7 to 8 minutes until mixture comes to a full boil.
  • Add remaining half-and-half and cook at a slow boil until mixture reaches 245 degrees on a candy thermometer (this takes a while).
  • Add vanilla.
  • Pour into a greased 8 or 9 inch square pan and let cool.
  • Cut into pieces.
