Ingredients
- 8 eggs (save out 2 whites for frosting)
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco or butter
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. lemon extract or any flavoring desired
Method
- Cream well the Crisco and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add milk and flour alternately. Add flavoring. Bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour in tube pan.
- If desired, this can be used for cupcakes or layers.
- Adjust time accordingly.
