Ingredients

  • 3 c. fine semolina
  • 1 c. plain flour
  • 2 Tbsp. turmeric
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 c. oil (Crisco)
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 c. tahini
  • 1/4 c. pine nuts

Method

  • Mix the flour, semolina, turmeric and baking powder.
  • Dissolve the sugar in the milk; add them to the flour mixture along with the oil.
  • Beat well for 5 minutes.
  • Grease the pan or (baking tray) with the tahini generously and bake for 30 minutes at 350° or until cake is done.
  • Sprinkle the cake with pine nuts before the baking; then cut the cake in diamond shapes.
  • Serve with tea.
