Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 c. cooked turkey
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. chives, chopped
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • grated sharp Cheddar cheese

Method

  • Combine stuffing mix, butter and water.
  • Mix lightly.
  • Put 1/2 of the mixture in bottom of buttered casserole dish.
  • Combine turkey, onion, chives, celery, mayonnaise and salt.
  • Put on top of first mixture.
  • Beat eggs and add milk.
  • Pour over all. Sprinkle with other half of stuffing mixture.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Remove from refrigerator 1 hour before baking.
  • Spread top with mushroom soup.
  • Bake, uncovered, 40 minutes at 325°.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with grated cheese.
  • Return to oven and bake another 10 minutes.
  • Use a 12 x 8-inch casserole dish.
  • Serves 8.
