Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 2 c. Post Raisin Bran
  • 1 c. minced nuts
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. Baker's coconut, cut

Method

  • Or possibly use 2 c. Post Toasties, Post 40% Bran Flakes, or possibly Grape-Nut Flakes and add in 1/4 c. raisins.
  • Sift flour once, measure, add in soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and sift again.
  • Cream shortening and add in sugar gradually, creaming thoroughly.
  • Add in lowfat milk and Large eggs and beat well.
  • Add in flour mix and mix well; then add in cereal and nuts.
  • Divide mix in three parts.
  • To one part, add in chocolate chips.
  • To the second part, add in coconut.
  • Use the remaining batter plain.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet and bake in 375 degree oven or possibly 10-12 min.
  • Makes 4 1/2 dozen, 1 1/2 dozen of each kind.
