Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (not dutched)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 oz. semisweet
  • bittersweet chocolate, in bits
  • 1/3 cup butter, in pats
  • 1-1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 lg. egg
  • 1/2 tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Sift flour, cocoa, and soda together.
  • Melt chocolate with butter.
  • Remove from heat and mix in milk, egg, and vanilla.
  • Add flour mixture.
  • Stir in nuts and chips.
  • Dough will be soft.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto greased baking sheets.
  • Bake until edges are set, 8-10 minutes.
  • Let stand a couple minutes, then cool on racks.
