- 3 c. water
- 3/4 c. uncooked regular grits
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded low-fat Cheddar cheese
- 1/8 tsp. hot sauce
- 1/3 c. egg substitute
- vegetable cooking spray
Method
- Bring water to a boil in medium saucepan. Add grits.
- Cover, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Add salt and next 3 ingredients, stirring until cheese melts. Stir a small amount of hot grits into egg substitute; add to remaining grits, stirring constantly.
- Pour mixture into a 1-quart baking dish coated with vegetable spray. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until mixture is set.
