Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. (1/2 pkg.) taco or chili seasoning mix
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies, drained
  • 3 to 4 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) can crescent rolls or 1 (7.5 oz.) can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 c. refried beans
  • 4 oz. Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 head lettuce, shredded
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped

Method

  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef; drain well.
  • Stir in seasoning, tomato sauce, chilies and Tabasco sauce; heat until hot and bubbly.
  • Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until mixture thickens.
  • Lightly grease a 9 or 10-inch pie plate.
  • Separate rolls or biscuits; arrange in pan.
  • Press over bottom and up sides to form crust.
  • Spread beans over dough.
  • Top with meat mixture. Bake at 375° for 18 to 22 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Sprinkle immediately with cheese.
  • Garnish with lettuce, tomato and onion.
  • Yields 4 to 6 servings.
