Ingredients

  • 1 sm. onion
  • 1 (4 ounce.) can minced green chilies
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1 c. tomatoes, peeled & minced
  • 1 can condensed beef bouillon
  • 1 can condensed chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. tomato juice
  • 1 teaspoon grnd cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp. bottled steak sauce
  • 3 tortillas, cut in 1/2" strips
  • 1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Method

  • Saute/fry onion, chili and garlic in oil till soft.
  • Add in tomatoes, bouillon, chicken broth, water, tomato juice, cumin, chili pwdr, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and steak sauce.
  • Bring soup to a boil, lower heat, simmer covered for 1 hour.
  • Add in tortillas and cheese and simmer 10 min longer.
