Ingredients

  • 1 med. onion
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 lbs. stew meat, optional
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce.) can Rotel tomatoes and green chilies
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce.) can beef broth
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce.) can chicken broth
  • 1/4 c. grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce.) can tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 cans water
  • 1 teaspoon grnd cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp. Tabasco, optional
  • 4 tortillas, cut in 1 inch squares

Method

  • Saute/fry the first 5 ingredients in a large kettle.
  • Add in remaining ingredients except tortillas and cheese, and simmer for 50 min.
  • Add in tortillas and cook 10 min.
  • Pour into mugs and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Caution: you may want to go easy on the warm stuff!!
  • Serves 6 to 8.
