Ingredients
- 1 1/4 c. soft margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 5 c. flour
- 1/2 c. milk
Method
- Cream margarine and sugar.
- Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Stir together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
- If dough is sticky, add flour to handle.
- Cut out with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake in moderate oven at 350° to 375° for 8 minutes.
- These are called sugar cookies now, but used to be called "Tea Cakes."
