Ingredients

  • 4 cubed steaks
  • 1/2 diced onion
  • 2 cups. sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 lb. bacon
  • 1 can 14 1/2 oz. diced tomatoes
  • 2 t. tarragon
  • 1 4oz. whipping cream
  • 2 T. water
  • 2 T. cornstarch

Method

  • Fry bacon in oven proof skillet. Brown steak in 1/4 cup bacon grease. Put onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, taragon, crumbled bacon over steak. Cover and bake at 325 for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. Remove steak and toppings from skillet. Combine water and cornstarch, add with whipping cream to skillet. Bring to boil, simmer 3 - 4 minutes until thick. Pour over steak and toppings.
