Ingredients
- 4 cubed steaks
- 1/2 diced onion
- 2 cups. sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 lb. bacon
- 1 can 14 1/2 oz. diced tomatoes
- 2 t. tarragon
- 1 4oz. whipping cream
- 2 T. water
- 2 T. cornstarch
Method
- Fry bacon in oven proof skillet. Brown steak in 1/4 cup bacon grease. Put onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, taragon, crumbled bacon over steak. Cover and bake at 325 for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. Remove steak and toppings from skillet. Combine water and cornstarch, add with whipping cream to skillet. Bring to boil, simmer 3 - 4 minutes until thick. Pour over steak and toppings.
