Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round light (seedless) rye bread
  • 1 lb. Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 lb. butter, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. poppy seed
  • 2 Tbsp. minced onion flakes
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. Beau Monde seasoning

Method

  • Take top off loaf and cut grids 1 1/2-inches (almost to bottom).
  • Place 1 cut of
  • Swiss
  • cheese
  • in each slot, using 1 pound.
  • Place pan in round pan.
  • Blend together the balance of ingredients and spread
  • on top of bread like icing of cake and bake at 350°
  • for
  • 30
  • minutes.
  • Remove
  • and
  • cool 2 minutes. (Good for a party.)
