Ingredients

  • 12 prunes
  • 1/3 c. rice
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 orange, cut up
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 can fruit cocktail
  • 2 Tbsp. tapioca

Method

  • Cut desired amounts of beef, mutton or lamb flanks into 9 x 7-inch pieces.
  • On each place smaller pieces.
  • Season with salt and pepper and layer with chopped salted onions.
  • Roll jelly roll-like and sew each roll firmly with cord, leaving one end open.
  • Using edge of spoon (wooden) stuff with onions until roll is full.
  • Sew open end closing it.
  • Boil in salted water until done. Then remove from kettle and put in press for several hours.
