Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. canned chili (without beans)
  • 1/2 c. grape jelly
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Method

  • Combine first 7 ingredients and blend well.
  • Shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Set aside.
  • Combine chili, jelly and lemon juice in saucepan or deep frying pan and mix well over low heat.
  • Add meatballs, stirring lightly.
  • Simmer for 1 hour.
  • Can be warmed in a crock-pot.
