Ingredients

  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 c. bacon drippings
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c. dark molasses
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. chili sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
  • 1 lb. navy beans, cooked and drained
  • 1 (13 1/2 oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained and cut in half
  • 1/2 c. chopped sweet pickles
  • 1/4 c. sliced stuffed olives

Method

  • Saute onion and garlic in bacon drippings in skillet until tender (do not brown).
  • Stir in celery, brown sugar, molasses, tomato sauce, chili sauce, salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce.
  • Simmer uncovered 20 minutes.
