Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 slices white bread
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. bouillon
  • 1/2 c. milk

Method

  • Fry onions in butter until golden brown.
  • Soak bread in 1/2 cup milk.
  • Combine ground meat with fried onions, soaked bread, eggs, salt and pepper.
  • Roll into 1-inch balls and fry in butter or oil until evenly browned.
  • Shake pan often to keep ball round. Remove meatballs; add flour to fat and blend.
  • Add bouillon and milk; cook until sauce is smooth and thickened.
  • Add meatballs; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Serve over noodles.
