Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1/3 c. minced onion
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. water
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 12 oz. chili sauce
  • 10 oz. jar grape jelly

Method

  • In a large bowl, mix the first 9 ingredients.
  • Shape into small meat balls.
  • Heat 1/2 cup oil in large skillet on medium heat.
  • Place meatballs in oil.
  • Cover and cook slowly.
  • Turn meatballs occasionally.
  • Drain oil.
  • Mix chili sauce and grape jelly in skillet; heat until blended.
  • Add meatballs, cover and simmer about 20 minutes.
  • Makes about 20 meatballs.
