Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • boneless pork shoulder
  • 3/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 4 Tbsp. ground onion (1 medium)

Method

  • Put everything but meat into blender and mix well.
  • Pour over meat and thoroughly mix.
  • Shape into small 1 to 1 1/2-inch balls. Fry gently to brown.
  • Cover and simmer with small amount of water after meatballs well browned.
  • Simmer 30 minutes.
  • Can make gravy from drippings or small can mushroom sauce works well.
