Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 pound Ground Ham
  • 1 pound Ground Pork
  • 2 cups Bread Crumbs
  • 2 whole Eggs, Well Beaten
  • 3/4 cups Milk (approximate)
  • 1 cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
  • 1/4 cups Cider Vinegar
  • 3/4 cups Water

Method

  • Heat the oven to 375.
  • Combine the first 5 ingredients well and shape into 12 large meatballs. (Start with 1/2 cup of the milk and see if you need to add more). Place these in a baking dish.
  • Combine the brown sugar, dry mustard, vinegar and water to form a "syrup". Pour over the meatballs and bake for one hour, basting the meatballs every 15 minutes with the syrup.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, and sauteed cabbage for a lucky New Year's dinner!
