Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 14 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 lb. can tomatoes
  • 3 oz. can mushrooms
  • 8 oz. shell macaroni, cooked
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 1/2 lb. Provolone cheese
  • 1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • In large pot, cook and drain ground beef, onion and garlic. Add spaghetti sauce, tomatoes and mushrooms.
  • Simmer 20 minutes. While this is simmering, cook macaroni shells.
  • Using a large casserole dish, layer 1/2 shells, 1/2 meat sauce and Provolone cheese.
  • Then 1/2 shells, 1/2 meat sauce and Mozzarella cheese. Cover and bake.
  • Remove cover last 5 minutes to let cheese melt. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
