Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. white sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 4 Tbsp. milk
- 4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. grated orange rind or lemon rind
Method
- Cream shortening, sugar, grated rind and nutmeg.
- Add sugar gradually and cream well.
- Add eggs and milk.
- Blend well.
- Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
- Add to creamed mixture. Blend well.
- Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet.
- Decorate with colored sugar.
- Bake at 350° until done.
