Ingredients

  • 4 green peppers
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 slices white bread, soaked in hot water
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 small can tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh or frozen basil
  • 2 Tbsp. gravy mix

Method

  • Cut top off peppers.
  • Remove seeds and rinse with water. Soak white bread in hot water for 1 minute.
  • Squeeze out excess water and add bouillon cube into bread to dissolve.
  • Mix bread into meat.
  • Add onion, nutmeg, pepper and eggs.
  • Mix well and stuff peppers.
  • In large saucepan heat oil and add peppers.
  • Fry for two minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil and gravy mix.
  • Cook for 30 minutes over medium heat.
  • Serve with Rice.
