Ingredients

  • 2 lbs strawberries
  • 14-12 cup sugar
  • 10 Hostess Twinkies
  • whipped cream

Method

  • 1.
  • Wash strawberries and drain well.
  • Hull and slice each strawberry into several pieces.
  • 2.
  • Place strawberries in medium-sized container and mash with potato masher until you reach the consistency you desire.
  • 3.
  • Sprinkle with 1/4 to 1/2 cup of sugar, depending on how sweet you like the sauce.
  • 4.
  • Cover and refrigerate sauce for several hours.
  • Do not add water; the strawberries will make their own juice.
  • 5.
  • Place Twinkies in individual dishes and top with strawberry sauce and whipped cream.
