Ingredients
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 c. milk
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pkg. frozen strawberries, thawed
Method
- Combine in a saucepan, 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, salt and milk (a wire whisk works great).
- Cook and stir until it boils and thickens.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir about a cup of warmed ingredients into the egg yolk in a separate bowl.
- Add this mixture back into saucepan with the hot mixture.
- Return to stove and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Stir in vanilla and pour into a dish.
- Chill.
- Serve with strawberries on top.
